The Don Englebreston Collection
Gallery: A1 and Related Pictures
Aircraft of the Southeast Asian air war are gathered here, from a VNAF A-1 Skyraider banking over the Mekong Delta and a folded-wing Skyraider on the flight line to an F-105 Thunderchief and a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog marking targets for strike aircraft. A museum panel tallying 2,257 U.S. aircraft lost between 1966 and 1973 sets the cost of those campaigns alongside the machines that flew them.
