Large Blue Fuel-Air Explosive/'Daisy Cutter'-Type Bomb on Support Stands, Vietnam Air Base
An outsized blue-painted bomb, informally called a 'propane bomb' by the airmen who handled it, rests on wooden stands at a Vietnam-era air base support yard. Weapons of this scale and design were employed for tasks such as instantly clearing helicopter landing zones through massive blast overpressure — a striking example of the specialized ordnance developed during the war.
