Pilots of Field Training Unit class 68-07 pose before an A-1 Skyraider prior to deployment. Among them, highlighted here, is Maj. William A. Jones III, who on September 1, 1968, flew his burning Skyraider through heavy enemy fire over North Vietnam to pinpoint a downed airman's location, sustaining severe burns in the process.
