Battle-Damaged Aircraft Wing with Support Truck, Vietnam-Era Flight Line, circa 1965
This scrapbook page preserves a photograph of a severely battle-damaged aircraft wing on the flight line, alongside a contemporary newspaper clipping describing an aircraft downed over South Vietnam by surface-to-air missile fire and rescued by an HU-16 Albatross crew. Together they document the intensity of aerial combat operations during the Vietnam War and the vital role of search-and-rescue units in recovering downed airmen. Project: 219913
