Photographs taken by servicemen of the 345th Bombardment Group capture the "Air Apaches" and their B-25 Mitchells at Ie Shima, along with ground crews, aircrew portraits, captured trophies, and handwritten album notes about nose art. At the heart of the group are eyewitness views of the Japanese "Green Cross" surrender envoys who landed on the island on 19 August 1945, en route to Manila.
