Rodeo Arena Viewed from Beneath a Grandstand Roof, Almost Certainly Cheyenne Frontier Days

Photographed from deep under a grandstand roof, this frame looks out across a harrowed dirt oval to packed open-air stands on the far side. In the arena a light-colored horse stands over a person down on the ground while mounted riders close in — the aftermath of a bronc or bull ride. A companion frame on the same roll shows this arena with its grandstand lettering legible as CHEYENNE and FRONTIER DAYS, identifying Frontier Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming, home of the world's largest outdoor rodeo since 1897. Trumpet loudspeakers on a post carry the announcer's voice across the track, and tall standards light the evening program. Project: 219970
