His name tape sits beneath aviator wings; the shoulder patch carries the callsigns 'Sandy' and 'Firefly' with the aircraft designation A-1H, and a black pirate-flag patch reads 'Yankee Air Pirate', a term American aircrew adopted from North Vietnamese propaganda.
