A North American Rockwell OV-10A Bronco, tail number 14658 (USAF serial 67-14658), banks away from the camera on a working sortie. Purpose-built for counter-insurgency and forward air control, the twin-boom Bronco combined excellent visibility from its glazed tandem cockpit with the endurance and firepower to mark targets and direct strikes. From 1968 OV-10s took over the bulk of USAF forward air control work in Southeast Asia, flying as "Nail," "Covey," "Rustic," and "Raven" - Covey crews working directly with MACV-SOG reconnaissance teams and coordinating A-1 Skyraiders on rescue missions.
