Douglas A-1 Skyraiders in Revetments on a Rain-Swept Flightline with Crash-Rescue Truck and Warning Sign, Southeast Asia, Vietnam War Era
Two Douglas A-1 Skyraiders sit among corrugated-steel blast revetments as a monsoon squall sweeps a Southeast Asian airbase. Loaded pylons hang beneath the wings, a red crash-rescue truck stands its usual alert at right, and a stenciled flightline warning - the fragments "NO S... BEY... THIS..." - is cropped by the frame's edge. A base dog crosses the wet apron alone. Weather like this grounded strikes and delayed rescue missions for hours at a time, and waiting it out was as much a part of the war as flying. Low-resolution copy; no aircraft serials or unit markings are legible. Project: 219827
