A thatched structure along a Laotian waterway and a 1998 newspaper clipping, both preserved in the Gene McCarley Collection from Operation Tailwind. Together they span the 1970 MACV-SOG raid along the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the media firestorm that followed, including Lt. Col. Eugene McCarley's rebuttal of the CNN/Time "Valley of Death" nerve gas allegations that the network later retracted.
