Two Vietnam War aircraft photographs from the Barry Pencek collection: AH-1G Cobra gunships staged with loaded rocket pods along a remote dirt airstrip near the Laotian border, and a C-123 Provider transport taxiing at a forward airbase. Both aircraft types were mainstays of MACV-SOG special operations such as Operation Tailwind, supplying the close air support and airlift that kept reconnaissance teams working behind enemy lines in one of the war's most secretive campaigns.
