Two unit newspaper clippings from early 1970 reporting on A-1 Skyraider combat operations: Captain Karre's flight covering a downed Army helicopter so an unarmed "Dustoff" medevac could extract five survivors, and a 56th Special Operations Wing strike near Chu Lai flown by "Spad" pilots Maj. Timothy L. Buttermore and 1st Lt. James F. Seith. Written for the servicemembers who flew these missions, these contemporary accounts offer a rare first-person window into the Skyraider's rescue-escort and close air support work in Vietnam.
