A radial-engined warbird holds on the runway during the Tennessee Museum of Aviation's annual air show, framed by a working farm barn and the layered ridges of the Great Smoky Mountains. Photographs such as this one document the continued flying preservation of Second World War and Vietnam-era piston aircraft, and were gathered by veterans of the A-1 Skyraider community as a record of contemporary commemoration rather than of wartime service.
