Two aircraft hold formation against a hazy summer sky as a cumulus tower builds along the horizon, landing lights burning to keep the pair visible to spectators and to each other. Air shows like this one carry the flying heritage of the Second World War, Korea and Vietnam forward for new audiences, and the photographs made at them form a modern layer within veterans' collections.
