Formation Pair of Orange-Yellow Radial Trainers Marked NAVY and USAF Trailing Smoke, June 7, 2014 Air Show

A pair of orange-yellow radial trainers - almost certainly North American T-28 Trojans - climb in formation with smoke on at the June 7, 2014 air show at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation, Sevierville. The wing undersides tell the type's story: one aircraft lettered NAVY, the other USAF. The T-28 trained generations of American military pilots from the early 1950s, and armed versions later flew counter-insurgency missions in Southeast Asia. Restored examples remain popular on the warbird display circuit. Project: 219309
