The donor's own handwritten caption names the men: Jack Wolcott, John Kiland, Tom Lyon, Chuck Kasbeer, Lieutenant Colonel Hagan and Walt Keeler, and records the occasion as a champagne celebration for Chuck Kasbeer. NKP was the home of the 56th Special Operations Wing, parent unit of the A-1 Skyraider detachments that flew Sandy rescue and MACV-SOG support missions over Laos and Vietnam.
