Gallery: USS TRENTON
A cloth-bound scrapbook compiled by H.A. Petrey aboard the light cruiser USS Trenton (CL-11) between 1938 and 1940 follows the ship and her crew from Villefranche-sur-Mer to Lisbon, London, Madeira, and Honolulu. Shore-leave snapshots, souvenir prints, and handwritten jokes preserve an enlisted sailor's view of the fleet in the last peacetime months before the Second World War.
