Julius Streicher, Nazi Gauleiter of Franconia and publisher of the propaganda newspaper Der Stürmer, sits under American guard shortly after his capture in the Bavarian Alps in early May 1945. He was later tried at Nuremberg for crimes against humanity and executed in 1946. Project: 218668
