North American NA-50 Export Fighter, Front Quarter View, Foreign Roundel Markings

This companion photograph of a North American NA-50 export fighter shows the aircraft from the front, revealing a forward-firing machine gun mounted atop the engine cowling. Developed from North American's trainer airframe for foreign sale before World War II, the NA-50 was purchased in small numbers by the Peruvian Air Force and saw brief combat service during the 1941 conflict with Ecuador. The foreign roundel insignia on the wing distinguishes this export configuration from North American's U.S. military production aircraft of the same era. Project: 218470
