Aftermath of the Roseville Rail Yard Explosion, California, 1973
Twisted rails and charred wreckage mark the site of the April 1973 Roseville, California rail yard disaster, when a freight train carrying bombs bound for shipment overseas caught fire and exploded. This photograph shows cleanup crews working to clear the devastated yard in the explosion's aftermath, one of the largest domestic ordnance accidents of the Vietnam War era. Project: 218336
