Squadron Tent with Indian Head Insignia, 345th Bombardment Group Encampment, Pacific Theater, WWII
A squadron tent bearing the distinctive Indian-head insignia associated with the 345th Bombardment Group, the "Air Apaches," photographed at a forward airbase in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Ground crews and airmen lived and worked out of such canvas-and-wood tents, improvising furnishings and heating from salvaged materials while supporting bombing operations against Japanese forces.
