Interior of Quonset Hut Mess Hall or Enlisted Club, NAS Agana, Guam
Sailors gather inside a Quonset hut mess hall or recreation space at Naval Air Station Agana, Guam, home to Naval Air Transport Squadron VR-6. Quonset huts, with their signature corrugated steel arch construction, were rapidly deployed throughout the Pacific during and after World War II to house everything from barracks to mess halls and recreation facilities. This photograph reflects the everyday base life of naval air transport personnel stationed on Guam in the years following the war. Project: 218207
