This composite photograph documents a U.S. military training class, identified only as the 'MA-IS 2nd Class,' which convened between 11 April and 4 July 1945. Arranged in the standard graduation-composite format of the period, it features individual portrait photographs of roughly seventy officers, mostly holding the rank of Captain or First Lieutenant, each identified by a printed name strip. The sheet was preserved in the personal collection of Lt. E. P. McAleer, whose name appears among those pictured, and was likely kept as a memento of a course he completed during his wartime service.
