Douglas A-1 Skyraider in Banking Flight, Head-On View (Sequence Frame 4)
Seen almost head-on, the Skyraider's four-bladed propeller and radial engine cowling dominate the frame as the aircraft pulls out of its turn. The type's massive Wright R-3350 radial engine gave it the power to haul heavy bomb and rocket loads that made it invaluable for close air support missions flown by VNAF pilots throughout the war.
