An embroidered patch set on a flight suit reading "Sandy," "Super Spad," and "Firefly," the mission nicknames earned by A-1 Skyraider pilots in Vietnam. Each name marks a different job: "Sandy" for the rescue escorts who shielded downed airmen, "Firefly" for night flare-illumination sorties, a small piece of cloth that captures how much was asked of Skyraider crews.
