Multnomah Falls, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Fed by underground springs on Larch Mountain, Multnomah drops in two tiers for a combined height of roughly 620 feet, making it the tallest waterfall in Oregon. The arched Benson Bridge visible between the tiers was completed in 1914 and remains one of the most photographed structures in the Pacific Northwest. This snapshot was taken during a trip that combined attendance at a Special Operations Association Reunion in the Portland area with sightseeing and a visit to a fellow veteran, and comes from the personal travel photographs in the Donald L.
