Panelists at the symposium head table, among them a veteran in the bright orange one-piece flying 'party suit' associated with the A-1 Skyraider community, its right sleeve carrying a United States flag patch. Skyraider crews of the 56th Special Operations Wing — including the Da Nang detachment known as OLAA — flew a large share of their missions in direct support of MACV-SOG reconnaissance teams, and their veterans were regular participants in the association's symposia.
