In this account of the October 2014 reunion, Don Engebretsen describes organizing a symposium to reunite Douglas A-1 Skyraider pilots with the MACV-SOG reconnaissance men they supported over Laos and Cambodia. Engebretsen flew with OLAA — Operating Location Alpha Alpha, the Da Nang Spad detachment — which he notes was the only A-1 unit created specifically to meet MACVSOG requirements and which flew nearly half its sorties for SOG teams.
