The A-1 Skyraider was a propeller-driven attack aircraft, obsolete by jet-age standards but able to loiter for hours over a target; its crews flew close air support and escort for MACV-SOG reconnaissance teams operating in Laos and Cambodia, and the bond between Skyraider pilots and SOG veterans persists at these reunions.
