Google Earth Pro Long Oblique Screen Capture: 'RT Vermont from Hatchet Force'
A present-day Google Earth Pro screen capture used as a research tool. The long oblique view looks across forested border ranges in the former operating area of MACV-SOG, with two yellow placemarks positioned to show the relationship between a proposed reconnaissance team location, 'RT Vermont at Booby Trap???', and a proposed 'Hatchet Force???' position. Hatchet Forces were company-sized exploitation and reaction elements committed when a small recon team found a target too large for it to handle. The thin yellow line crossing the terrain is Google Earth's rendering of an international boundary - a reminder that these operations were conducted across a border that officially did not exist for American ground troops. The question marks in both labels indicate proposed, not confirmed, positions. Project: 219849
