Richard D. Chorlins, seen here as a U.S. Air Force Academy cadet in 1967, went on to fly the A-1 Skyraider with the 602nd Special Operations Squadron, pictured with his fellow pilots in 1969. The 602nd flew Skyraiders on close air support and search-and-rescue escort missions during the Vietnam War, often over some of the most heavily defended areas of Southeast Asia. Project: 219834
