The soaking of returning aircrew on completion of a milestone or final combat mission is a long-established Air Force custom, documented here across several frames from the same occasion. The aircraft shows its principal features clearly: the radial engine cowling and yellow-tipped propeller blade at left, the canopy slid fully aft, the whip antenna on the spine, the black anti-skid wing walkway, and the wavy demarcation of three-tone Southeast Asia camouflage.
