Douglas A-1 Skyraiders in Revetments on the Flight Line, Airbase in Vietnam, Vietnam War Era

Douglas A-1 Skyraiders stand in corrugated steel revetments on an airbase flight line in Vietnam, several already loaded with underwing stores. The herringbone revetment layout gave each aircraft blast protection against rocket and mortar attack while still allowing it to be towed straight onto the apron. Around them sits the machinery that kept them flying: crash and rescue trucks, fuel bowsers, tugs, ground power units and fire extinguishers at every bay. Project: 219827
