Slides like this one, shot by Lt. Donald L. Engebretsen while flying A-1 Skyraiders with the OLAA detachment at Da Nang, record the working environment of Sandy and Spad crews: hours of transit over river valleys and forested uplands between the moments that made the mission reports. The winding brown river and its oxbow loops are characteristic of the low-relief alluvial country the Skyraiders crossed en route to targets and rescue orbits. Project: 219603
