A preserved Douglas A-1 Skyraider, nicknamed 'Lieutenant America,' on static display in a Tennessee air museum hangar. The Skyraider, affectionately known to its pilots as the 'Spad,' was a rugged single-engine attack aircraft flown extensively during the Vietnam War in close air support and search-and-rescue escort roles.
