Vietnam veterans gather beneath the tail of a preserved A-1 Skyraider during a 2016 reunion event. Affectionately nicknamed the "SPAD," the Skyraider provided close air support and rescue escort for downed airmen and ground forces throughout the war, including during the 1970 cross-border raid known as Operation Tailwind.
