UH-1 Huey Helicopter Tail Boom, Museum Static Display
The tail boom of a Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter, preserved in a museum static display, shows the wear of decades and the faded markings of its service. Hueys like this one provided vital troop transport, medevac, and extraction support throughout the Vietnam War, including for MACV-SOG reconnaissance teams during operations such as Operation Tailwind, a September 1970 cross-border incursion into Laos.
