Rugged, triple-canopy jungle terrain in the Laos/Vietnam border region, photographed from the air. A rising column of smoke marks activity on the ground below -- a common sight during MACV-SOG cross-border reconnaissance missions such as Operation Tailwind, conducted in this remote, heavily forested terrain in September 1970.
