Taxiing at a present-day commemorative flying event, this preserved Skyraider carries authentic Vietnam-era Air Force finish: Southeast Asia camouflage, an external fuel tank, and the fin code 'TC' above the last three digits of its serial. 'TC' identified aircraft of the 1st Special Operations Squadron, one of the units that flew the A-1 in Southeast Asia on close air support for MACV-SOG reconnaissance teams and as 'Sandy' escort for combat search and rescue.
