Photographed through an aircraft window during the insertion phase of Operation Tailwind, this aerial view shows the mixed jungle and open grassland terrain of the operational area in Laos, crossed by a river and visible foot trails. Terrain features like these were closely studied by MACV-SOG teams and their helicopter crews when planning insertion and extraction points. Project: 219488
