This reference map of the Laos-Cambodia-South Vietnam border region was used in planning Operation Tailwind, a September 1970 covert MACV-SOG operation into Laos led by then-Major Gene McCarley. Maps like this one guided Special Forces reconnaissance and raid teams operating in one of the most remote and heavily contested corridors of the Vietnam War, the Ho Chi Minh Trail network through the Bolovens Plateau.
