Aerial View of Jungle and Grassland Terrain, Vietnam/Laos Border Region, Vietnam War Era
An aerial view of the rugged jungle and grassland terrain typical of the Vietnam-Laos border region during the Vietnam War. Photographs like this one, taken from military aircraft, documented the dense triple-canopy forest and cleared highland areas that characterized the operating environment for MACV-SOG (Studies and Observations Group) reconnaissance teams, including those involved in cross-border missions such as the 1970 Operation Tailwind.
