Serving Special Forces soldiers in Army Service Uniform, green berets in hand, share the evening with a Special Forces Association member in the association's green blazer. The reception marked the award of the Medal of Honor to Gary Michael Rose, the medic of the Hatchet Force during Operation Tailwind, the MACV-SOG raid into southern Laos in September 1970 in which Rose treated more than sixty wounded over four days while wounded himself.
