Sergeant Gary M. Rose is honored in the Pentagon's Hall of Heroes following his Medal of Honor presentation for extraordinary heroism as a Special Forces medic during a clandestine MACV-SOG reconnaissance mission into Laos in September 1970. Despite his own wounds, Rose repeatedly exposed himself to enemy fire to treat and evacuate wounded teammates over four days of sustained combat. His name was formally added to the Vietnam War Medal of Honor roll displayed at this ceremony, more than four decades after the action for which he was recognized. Project: 219444
