Fortified Base Camp Perimeter with Guard Tower and South Vietnamese Flag
A fortified U.S./South Vietnamese base camp, its perimeter ringed with barbed wire and watched over by a sandbagged guard tower. The South Vietnamese flag flies above the compound, which housed personnel and facilities supporting covert reconnaissance operations conducted by MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War, including missions related to Operation Tailwind in 1970.
