Memorial Wreath and Arlington Grave Marker for the Crew of "Jolly 54," USAF Rescue Helicopter Lost in Vietnam, 30 June 1970
On June 30, 1970, the USAF rescue helicopter call sign "Jolly 54" was shot down over Vietnam, killing all five crew members. Their remains were not recovered and identified until 1995, when excavation of the crash site yielded skeletal fragments, personal effects, and parachute hardware. The crew - Capt. Leroy C. Schaneberg, Maj. John W. Goeglein, SSgt. Marvin E. Bell, MSgt. Paul L. Jenkins, and SSgt. Michael E. Dean - now rest together at Arlington National Cemetery, honored by the Pararescue Association's motto: "That Others May Live." Project: 219414
