Veterans and Visitors Examine a Restored A-1 Skyraider at the Lloyd TN Air Museum Air Show, June 2014
Visitors and veterans gather beneath the nose of a restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider — the rugged, propeller-driven attack aircraft nicknamed the "Spad" for its WWI-era design lineage — during a 2014 air show. Skyraiders flew close air support and rescue escort missions throughout the Vietnam War, prized for their heavy ordnance load and long loiter time over the battlefield. Project: 219310
