Single-Engine Propeller Warbird in Flight Against an Overcast Sky, Tennessee Air Show, 7 June 2014

Air show flying display, 7 June 2014. A single-engine piston warbird, most likely a Douglas A-1 Skyraider or a North American T-28 Trojan, repositions high against an overcast Tennessee sky. Photographs of this kind - the aircraft small and remote in an empty sky - are a routine part of any airshow sequence, made as a display aircraft turns downwind between passes. The scale gives an honest sense of what a spectator on the ground actually sees for most of a display. From the collection of Donald L. Engebretsen, A-1 Skyraider pilot, and the A-1 veterans' community material gathered around it. Project: 219310
