A Douglas A-1 Skyraider demonstrates its carrier-heritage folding wings at the Museum of Aviation. Though most famously flown by the U.S. Air Force over Vietnam and Laos in the close air support and 'Sandy' rescue-escort roles, the Skyraider was originally a U.S. Navy carrier attack aircraft, and its distinctive folding wings allowed for compact storage aboard aircraft carriers.
