A restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider, painted in French Air Force markings, taxis at a Tennessee airshow in June 2014. The rugged, propeller-driven Skyraider became a legend of the Vietnam War, flying close air support and rescue escort missions for years after piston-engine fighters had otherwise given way to jets, and surviving examples like this one continue to fly at heritage events today.
